Portland Latin American Film Festival

The Portland Latin American Film Festival invites you to join us for a special nigth of live music and film. Bostich + Fussible, two of the co-founders of the influential Mexican band Nortec Collective will be performing on October 16 at the Hollywood Theatre.

The performance will follow the screening of the Mexican documentary Tijuana’s Nortec Sounds (Tijuana Sonidos del Nortec) which tells the story of this emblematic collective. Director Alberto Cortes will present the film and will be available to participate in a question and answer session with the audience.

Nortec Collective emerged from the burgeoning Tijuana electronic music scene, performing a style that they invented called Nortec-a fusion of Norteño (“from the North”) and Techno-documenting the collision between the style and culture of electronic music, characterized by hard dance beats, and traditional forms of Mexican music.

Nortec Collective’s new Bostich (Ramón Amezcua) & Fussible (Pepe Mogt) album Bulevar 2000 is now GRAMMY-nominated. In the past year, Bostich + Fussible’s Full Band Show has rocked major U.S. stages like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Central Park Summer Stage, as well as around the globe from Sweden and Germany to Australia.

October 16th at 8:30 pm is the only opportunity for Portland’s audience to enjoy the Bostich and Fussible show.
