New Deaf Culture course

This course will expose students to the history of Deaf culture and community, its art, literature, and language (American Sign Language), including current attitudes, movements, policies, and trends which affect Deaf people as a minority.  Students will be amazed as they find answers to questions such as:

Do you know the inventor of the light bulb was deaf?

Do you know the inventor of the telephone had a deaf mother and  a deaf wife?

Do you know a Deaf lady had won Miss America?

Do you know a Deaf actress had won the  Oscar?

Do you know the famous Deaf actress on ‘Sesame Street’?

Do you know there is an exclusive University for deaf people somewhere in ……?

Do you know some deaf scientists had won the Nobel Prize?

Lots and lots to learn in Deaf Culture!!!
