2015 Annual Reed College Sex, Gender and Sexuality Symposium Lecture

Marianne Cooper, sociologist at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University, affiliate of the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, and lead researcher for Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, will speak on, “Social Class and Gendered Burdens: Motherhood and Fatherhood in Unequal Times.” The talk draws on her book, Cut Adrift: Families in Insecure Times, which examines how families are coping in an insecure age.  The lecture will be held on Thursday, October 1 at 7pm in Vollum Lecture Hall.
