Seeking LGL Farm Stand Coordinator

LGL Farm Stand Coordinator: Oversee the planning and implementation of the Brentwood Darlington Community Farm stand, which is open weekly from June-October at LGL. Lead site wide crop planning and seed ordering for farm stand; create a succession crop plan; oversee volunteers and capstone students in planting and maintaining vegetables; oversee publicity for farmstand; work with volunteers and LGL staff to harvest and prepare vegetables for sale once a week during the farm stand season; oversee farm stand set up and clean up each week; oversee farm stand while open; document harvest and amounts sold; deposit money from farm stand sales. Additional responsibilities include participating in LGL team meetings every other week, and participating in monthly Saturday work parties and special events.

Extensive gardening or farming experience and skills required. Priority given to applicants willing to commit to 1.5-2 years in this position.

Intern qualifications:

Graduate students enrolled at least part time in the Leadership for Sustainability Education (LSE) program or other graduate program at PSU; willingness to engage in participatory leadership and continuous learning; ability to commit one year of time to the position; ability to work independently and collaborate well with others; experience developing and coordinating programs; experience working with youth and community volunteers; experience developing program materials and participatory learning sessions; willingness to participate in biweekly team meetings and monthly work parties; strong communication and writing skills; willingness to train new intern during that last term of the internship; gardening/farming experience strongly preferred.
